My husband’s recent testimony, from March 5th

Easter / Resurrection Sunday is the time when we celebrate the fact that Jesus didn’t stay dead. This is worthy of celebration because His resurrection is the whole reason that we can walk in newness of life! Yes, His death paid the price for our sin, and that is vitally important, because without that sacrifice that He made, we would have no other option but to go to hell when we die, simply because we are sinful and sin cannot exist in the presence of God.

But salvation isn’t just about that alone. Seriously! I hope many of you reading know this, but I have, in my 46 years of life, heard far too many gospel messages that are about where we go when we die and nothing more. This is selling the good news short! Because Jesus didn’t just die to pay the price, end of story. NO! He also rose so that we can have new life. Abundant life!

That means freedom from depression.

That means freedom from anxiety.

That means freedom from fear.

That means freedom from sin.

That means joy and peace no matter what circumstances are going on.

It is very true that there are many, many people trusting in Jesus Christ as their Savior, yet they are still trapped by depression, anxiety, and fear. That depression and anxiety and fear is real. They aren’t suffering because they did something wrong, or because they’ve failed. They’re caught in a battle, and they need people to fight for them spiritually so that the freedom that Jesus rose for is released in their life!

But first, I believe they need hope that freedom really does exist.

If you’re one of those people, or if you know someone who is, or if you’re standing on “the outskirts of salvation” as my husband calls it, then this is for you. I mentioned back in December how much God had done, and how 20 years of prayers were suddenly and amazingly answered when God set my husband free from what had held him back for forty years. Part 1 of the story is 20-years old, and it’s here, when God set me free, and I started praying for the same freedom for my husband. That freedom came in November.

Here is his story, in his own words. As you listen, know that hope is calling!

Yes, he is changed. He is not the same man I’ve been married to for 27 years. It is amazing the thousands of tiny things that I still, 6 months later, keep noticing. He is free.
